Please, do not take a corvid (or any other wild bird) captive. It is a federal offense and in most situations unethical. I have spent (30 years,) the better part of my life, researching "crows as pets" and in most cases it does not end well for the bird. Rapidly separating a bird from its natural habitat and culture is no way to treat a friend. We can accelerate the integration of crows into modern society, but no person (or crow) can do this alone. Together we can carefully take intentional steps to strengthen the alliance between humans and crows. Like any healthy friendship we will rely on honesty, trust, communication, and choice. it was a privilege to care for Gurgy, a pied crow x brow neck raven, bred in captivity. she helped me grow Every day for years working together. She made due, with a wild fear & curiosity. She was a loyal friend. I feel crows & humans have a lost connection... but, if It can be felt, is it lost?
